CTET 2026 Application Form Reopend Apply from August 25 to September 1
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced a fresh opportunity for eligible candidates to submit online applications for the 22nd Edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET). As per the official public notice dated 25 August 2026, the CTET application portal has been reopened for candidates who could not apply during the earlier application window.
The decision has been taken in view of the need to provide eligible candidates a reasonable opportunity to fulfil the statutory requirement of acquiring the prescribed Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) qualification.
CTET 2026 Application Window Reopened
According to the CBSE public notice, the earlier online application process for the 22nd Edition of CTET was open from 11 May 2026 to 10 June 2026.
Now, CBSE has decided to reopen the application portal for eligible candidates who could not take advantage of the earlier application window.
The reopened application window will remain available from:
25 August 2026 to 1 September 2026
Candidates who are eligible and missed the previous application deadline can use this additional opportunity to submit their CTET application online.

Candidates Who Have Already Applied Need Not Apply Again
CBSE has specifically clarified that candidates who have already successfully completed and submitted their CTET applications do not need to apply again.
Therefore, candidates whose applications were successfully submitted during the earlier application period should not submit a fresh application.
The reopened application window is primarily an opportunity for eligible candidates who were unable to apply during the earlier period.
Why Has CBSE Reopened the CTET Application Portal?
The CBSE stated that the decision has been taken in view of a judgment of the Hon’ble Supreme Court in Review Petition (Civil) Diary No. 53434/2025 in Civil Appeal No. 1385/2025.
The judgment emphasized the need to provide eligible teachers with a reasonable opportunity to comply with the statutory requirement of acquiring the prescribed TET qualification.
Considering this and the larger interest of candidates, CBSE has decided to provide an additional application opportunity for eligible candidates.
CTET 2026 Revised Exam Date
The examination date for the 22nd Edition of CTET will be revised.
CBSE has stated that the revised date of the CTET examination will be announced after the closure of the application portal.
Therefore, candidates should regularly check the official CBSE/CTET website for the latest examination schedule, admit card information and other announcements.
Who Should Apply Again?
Eligible candidates who:
- Could not submit the CTET application during the earlier application period.
- Were unable to take advantage of the application window from 11 May to 10 June 2026.
- Fulfil the prescribed eligibility requirements for CTET.
- Want to appear in the 22nd Edition of CTET.
Candidates who have already successfully submitted their applications should not apply again.
